The Tamdhu Ambar single malt stands out with its intense amber colour, which is why the whisky bears its name (Spanish for amber). The sherry casks in which the Speyside whisky was allowed to mature for 14 years also come from Spain.

La distillerie: Tamdhu
Situated at Knockando in the center of the Speyside the Tamdhu Distillery managed to survive difficult years of economical ups and downs. This is due to the status of Tamdhu Whisky as a reliable component in the Blends of the Highland Distillers for years. It always was “The Can-Dhu-Spirit”. Since 2011 the distillery belongs to Ian Macleod Distillers who meanwhile started a revival of the brand and relaunched the Single Malt Tamdhu successfully.

Aroma: Süss und Sherry
Geschmack: Cremig, leicht Speicheltreibend, Honig und dunkle Früchte, im Nachklang etwas bitter.
Abgang: Lang und wärmend mit leichter Holznote
Kommentar: Vorne weg: Bei Tamdhu sind alle Whiskys sehr gut. Bei dem Ambar hatte ich also sehr hohe Erwartungen. Für mich ist und bleibt aber der 15er einfach die 1. Wahl.
