Timorous Beastie
Aroma: Sweet at first. This is followed by floral notes, barley and spicy honey.
Taste: Spicy, soft and fruity with sugar and fudge and sultanas.
Finish: Sweet again with camphor cough sweets, some oak and muesli. Meringue in the aftertaste.
Scallywag
Aroma: Spicy-sweet with vanilla.
Taste: Fruity with stewed fruit, dark chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish: Long with notes of orange, cocoa, tobacco and fresh fruitcake.
Cask type: Sherry casks and Bourbon hogsheads.
Rock Island
Aroma: Fresh, salty and maritime.
Taste: Smoky and slightly peppery. Also honey, damp ash and liquorice.
Finish: Strong and long lasting.
Epicurean
Aroma: Malted barley, citrus fruits, citrus peel and herbs complemented by a floral note.
Taste: Full-bodied and sweet, caramelised sugar combines with thyme.
Finish: Typical herbal notes with almonds, grass and caramel.
Big Peat
Aroma: Typical Islay with peat smoke followed by fine sweetness.
Taste: Strong smoke dominates with sweet flavours.
Finish: Medium long with lots of smoke, somewhat dry and sweet.
Smoke content: 40 ppm.
Gauldrons
Aroma: Honeycomb, brown sugar, sea salt and subtle spices.
Taste: Mouth-filling, sweet and peppery with maritime flavours.
Finish: Vanilla, biscuit and a hint of smoke.

With the Remarkable Regional Malts miniature range from Douglas Laing, you can sample your way through six Scotch whisky regions. One Blended Malt is included from each region: Timorous Beastie from the Highlands, Scallywag from Speyside, Rock Island from the Islands, The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Big Peat from the Isle of Islay and new to this range: The Gauldrons from the Campbeltown region.

Kommentar: Interessant um die verschiedenen Abfüllungen von DL kennenzulernen. Die meisten haben mir leider nicht so zugesagt aber der Rock Island hat mir ganz gut gefallen.
