Product description
In contrast to most Speyside distilleries, very slightly smoky malt is used to produce the 10-year-old Benromach. The Single Malt was mostly matured in ex-bourbon casks. 20% of the whisky was matured in sherry casks. Despite the newly designed label with the usual contents.

Aroma: Dezenter Rauch, Noten von Sherry. Süßlich und dahinter lassen sich dunkle, rote Früchte erahnen (Pflaume?).
Geschmack: Angenehme Sherrysüße vermischt sich mit Gewürzen.
Abgang: Erst süß vom Sherry. Dann driftet es zu einer herben, dunklen Schokolade ab, bevor prickelnde Gewürze übernehmen. Wird ganz zum Schluß recht trocken.
Kommentar: an sich gibt's für den Preis hier nicht viel zu meckern, auch wenn der Abgang ein wenig holprig ist. Einem Einsteiger würde ich diesen Whisky nur bedingt empfehlen. Bietet für mich mehr an, als ich erwartet hätte.
