This Tomatin belongs to the Portuguese Collection of the Highland distillery. In this series, the influence of Portuguese port wine casks, moscato casks and Madeira casks on the Highland whisky initially matured in ex-bourbon casks is represented. The Port Edition was distilled in 2006 and transferred to port casks for final maturation in 2015. The design of the outer packaging is visually reminiscent of the wooden cask in which the Single Malt matured.

Tomatin has been a rising star among the Scottish distilleries since the beginning of the millennium. The Highland distillery was the biggest Scottish distillery in the 1970, but the quality of the Whisky wasn’t high regarded. Kommentar: Gelungener 15 Jahre alter Tomatin mit Nachreifung in Port Casks. Süße Orangennote, schön würzig, nussig und zum Schluss Zartbitter Eiche.
Der genießt sich gut, gefällt mir.

Kommentar: schöner runder Tomatin, leider kann ich die Waldfrüchte nicht finden. Da mir der Preis für diesen Whisky überzogen erscheint nur 4 Sterne.
