Corralejo Tequila Reposado is a tequila distilled in Column Stills and copper Pot Stills from 100% Blue Weber agave, with a maturation period of four months in a handpicked selection of barrels. The harvested agaves for Corralejo Tequila vary in age between 6-15 years and are cooked in a traditional stone oven at 93 degrees for 27 hours. Hacienda Corralejo was the birthplace of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costillo, who is known for starting the Mexican War of Independence and rose to become a national hero. It was the first estate in Mexico to produce tequila commercially and as such is one of the select few tequila distilleries that have the right to produce tequila in a province other than Jalisco.
