The 16-year-old Speyburn comes from the distillery in Rothes, Moray on Speyside. The Single Malt matures entirely in American ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak.

Kommentar: Der Whisky selber ist nicht sehr komplex, trotzdem ist er sehr lecker und er hat durch sein alter eine gewisse "Ruhe".

Geschmack: Macht dort weiter wo er in der Nase aufhört. Puderzucker/Zuckerwatte, Kiwi/Birne, etwas Zitrusfrucht, angenehme Vanillenote. Schön rund, weicher und angenehmer Körper, die 43% Vol. sind gut gewählt.
Nachklang: Mittellang und leicht wärmend, leicht würzige Eiche setzt einen schönen Kontrapunkt.
Kommentar: Ein sehr gut gemachter Single Malt und typische Ex-Bourbonreifung. Nicht komplex aber ausgewogen, weich und rund. Hinterlässt einen insgesamt starken Eindruck und erinnert mich an den Balvenie Single Barrell 12 Jahre, auch wenn dieser noch eine gute Schippe drauflegt. Wenn man den Preis von rund 50€ für den Liter auf 0,7l herunterrechnet landet man bei rund 35€. Preis/Leistung fast unschlagbar wenn man nach Ex-Bourbon sucht. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
