Description du produit
The Spice Tree from Compass Box uses a specially crafted barrel blend. With French oak lids and American oak barrels, the barrels for Spice Tree were burnt out more. The whisky was also matured longer for bottling than is usual for this producer. The malts used all come from the Highlands. The independent bottler Compass Box confidently calls itself a 'whisky maker' and sees itself more as a whisky artist than a producer. The team around John Glaser always tries to break new ground when it comes to maturation and blending. The production process is passed on to the customer as transparently as possible.

Aroma: Zuerst spürt man das „Spice“ so richtig, denn es kommen unwahrscheinlich schöne Kräuternoten daher, so wie bei einem Ricola-Bonbon; dann aber setzt auch eine Süsse von Vanille ein, die recht mächtig ist; eine schöne Harmonie zwischen Süsse und Würze.

Geschmack: Im Mund wiederholt sich genau das, was die Nase angekündigt hat, wieder ziemlich süss, kombiniert mit einer Würze die es in sich hat; er macht dem Namen Spice Tree alle Ehre.

Abgang: Der Abgang ist durch die anhaltende Würze ziemlich markant.

Kommentar: Ein toller Whisky mit einem ausgeprägten Charakter.
