Balcones Baby Blue is the first Texas corn on the market since Prohibition. It is made from the so-called 'Blue Corn', an actual blue, sweet corn variety from New Mexico, which is also used primarily in Mexican cuisine.

Finish:
Comment: The nose is sweet and oak-y with the buttered corn note they mention followed by some caramel. With water the sweetness is lessened and the nutmeg notes show up.
The palate is also very nicely sweet, balanced well by some bitter oak wood that lingers into the finish where some mixed spices show up a little. Water doesn't change too much, just lessens the alcohol intensity and allows you to taste with a little more detail.
Overall a tad basic but really nice tasting, quality spirit.

Kommentar: Eine echte Überraschung. Habe ihn schon mehrfach gekauft und auch erfolgreich verschenkt. Ist sehr angenehm zu trinken und bisher war jeder begeistert.
