This tequila is named after the "Tequila" volcano, at the foot of which the agaves grow in fertile soil before being harvested and processed. Tequila is made from distillates produced exclusively from the blue Weber agave that grows in the valleys of the Jalisco region. Champagne yeast is added to ferment the agave and after 3 days of fermentation, double distillation takes place in a large copper alembic still. The reposado part of the blend is aged for 6 months in American white oak barrels specially made for the Volcan distillery, in so-called 'Grace Casks'. The Anjeo Tequila portion matures for 14 months in American and European oak barrels and the Extra Anejo Tequila spends 3 years in American oak barrels. The Volcán de mi Tierra Tequila XA therefore contains anejo, extra anejo tequila and a portion of reposado tequila. The elegant bottle design also features an LED light at the bottom of the bottle, which emphasises the exclusivity of this tequila with its two functions (glowing and pulsating) and makes it an eye-catcher in the home bar.
