The Vital Spark is the 9th small batch bottling from Meadowside, which was created by Donald and Andy Hart. This is the oldest bottling to date at 18 years old. The heavily smoky Single Malt was given a sumptuous finish in sherry casks. Vital Spark was the name of a coastal ship that travelled on the River Clyde and transported whisky casks and coal in the 1930s. Vital Spark whisky was bottled at 52.1% vol. at cask strength without the addition of colour.

Kommentar: genau zuordnen könnte ich es ehrlicherweise nicht. Aber laut meinen Recherchen scheinen wir hier wohl eine Abfüllung aus der großen Highland Destille Loch Lomond zu haben. Das könnte hinkommen. Wer aromatischen, nicht zu dominanten Rauch und kraftvolle Sherrynoten mag, wird das hier wohl mögen. Sehr gefällig und lecker, mit deftigen Ecken und Kanten. Der Preis geht selbst für die Halbliterflasche in Ordnung, wenn man es mit den absurden Preisen für andere (namhaftere) Abfüllungen vergleicht.
