Speyburn 15 Year Old is a high-quality Single Malt Whisky from the traditional Speyburn Distillery in Rothes, one of the classic distilleries in the Speyside region of Scotland. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., it presents itself as a balanced and accessible whisky that nevertheless offers remarkable depth. Its 15-year maturation in a combination of American oak casks and Spanish sherry casks gives it a multi-layered flavour profile that harmoniously combines both fruity and spicy nuances. The influence of the American oak provides gentle vanilla and honey notes, while the Spanish sherry casks give the Speyburn 15 year old a warm spiciness, subtle notes of dried fruit and a pleasant depth. The result is a well-balanced Speyside whisky with a malty sweetness, light oak spice and a soft, lingering finish. Thanks to its careful maturation and the typical elegance of the distillery, Speyburn 15 year old is ideal for connoisseurs looking for a classic, yet aromatic Single Malt for their collection.

    Aroma: Würzig und aromatisch mit Zitrusnoten, dunkler Schokolade, Vanille und Rosinen.

    Geschmack: Sehr fruchtig und sanft mit Orange, einem Hauch Karamell und Vanille mit altem Leder.

    Abgang: Lang, ganz cremig und süß mit Gewürzen.

    Kommentar: Der Speyburn ist in jedem Jahrgang absolut zu empfehlen. Relativ mild, so gut wie kein Rauch (nur ein Hauch) und im Abgang angenehm süffig.

    Kommentar: Ich muss sagen, dass ich diesen Whisky wirklich mag. Ich habe Speyburn lange nicht auf dem Radar gehabt bis ich irgendwann einmal den 18er probiert habe. Der ist übrigens ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Aber selbst danach hat es lange gedauert bis ich einmal diesen 15er probiert habe. Dann habe ich mir aber direkt 3 Flaschen als Reserve bestellt, so gut gefällt er mir. Die Mischung von Sherry und bourbon ist gut getroffen. Er erinnert mich sehr vom Stil an Macallan oder Tamdhu und das sind ebenfalls Whiskys die ich mag. Viel Vanille und Karamell, schöne Fruchtnoten und Vollmilchschokolade. Alkohol super eingebunden und ein schönes alter, dass alles für einen guten Kurs. Was will man mehr?
