This Roseisle Single Malt is the oldest whisky from the distillery and was bottled for the 2025 Special Releases of the Diageo spirits group. It matured for 14 years in refill casks and so-called rejuvenated casks. Rejuvenated is the term used when wooden barrels have already been used several times and have been reprocessed using special methods to ensure the further storage of spirits. The inside of the barrel is scraped or sanded down and burnt out again to release the vanillin and caramel flavour of the wood. Since 2001, the spirits group has bottled an annual collection of limited edition Single Malt Whiskies from its extensive distillery portfolio. The series includes Scotch whiskies that are rarely available on the market and have been matured experimentally or are considered to be of particularly high quality overall. Whisky fans and collectors are therefore equally addressed. The whiskies are released once a year at cask strength and are characterised by exceptional maturation and, in some cases, old vintages, with bottlings without an age statement also appearing. For some years now, each edition has had an overarching theme, which is reflected in the artistically designed labels and packaging. Previous themes have included "Legends Untold", "Elusive Expressions", "Spirited Xchange" and "The Enigma of the Casks". The special releases offer connoisseurs the opportunity to discover unique flavour profiles and one-off cask ageings. The motto of the 2025 collection is Horizons Unbound.

Herstellerbeschreibung
on 30.09.2025
