Product description
Port Charlotte Islay Barley is distilled only from local grain. Barley from seven different farms on the island was used for the 2014 bottling: Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach, Dunlossit and Sunderland. The creation matured for 7 years in oak casks.

Bruichladdich is Gaelic (Bruchláddich or Bruikladdie) and means corner of the beach or gentle slope of the sea. The distillery was built in the year 1881 by the Brothers Robert, William and John Gourlay Harvey.

Aroma: Lagerfeuerglut, Vanillecreme, geflammte Zitronenschale und eine Prise Meersalz mit holzigen Akzenten und Backgewürzen.
Geschmack: Rosa Grapefruit, reifes Steinobst und vom Meer gewaschener Kiesel treffen auf Anklänge von gegrillten tropischen Früchten und würzigem Torfrauch.
Abgang: Eichenwürze, Aprikosenmarmelade und trocknender Holzrauch bleiben bestehen.
Geschmack: Rosa Grapefruit, reifes Steinobst und vom Meer gewaschener Kiesel treffen auf Anklänge von gegrillten tropischen Früchten und würzigem Torfrauch.
Abgang: Eichenwürze, Aprikosenmarmelade und trocknender Holzrauch bleiben bestehen.

Aroma: Frischer maritimer Rauch mit Fruchtnoten von Nektarinen und süßen Äpfeln.
Geschmack: Frisch und fruchtig-herb mit maritimem Rauch; Eichentannine mit zarter Bitterkeit; Gerstenmalz; Gewürze; herbe Fruchtnoten von Äpfeln und Quitten; ein Hauch Mokka.
Abgang: Mittellang bis lang; fruchtig mit leicht salzigem Ausklang; anhaltender Rauch; Eichentannine mit Anklängen von Gewürznelken.
Kommentar: Wieder ein feiner Islay Barley, auch wenn er mir nicht ganz so gut gefallen hat wie die 2011er Edition. Vier Sterne (von 5).
