Aroma Turkish sweets and rose petals balanced by candied fruits and grapes. Leather and a peppery spiciness follow, with a hint of chocolate in the background.
Taste Creamy with full-bodied almond notes, sweet malt and typical Ledaig pepper. Raspberries, sweet vanilla and cocoa follow with cinnamon and freshly cut grass.
Finish Persistently smoky with red fruits and seawater.

Product description
This Ledaig is named after the founder of the distillery, John Sinclair. The distillery on the island of Mull was still called Ledaig (safe haven) in 1798. The first bottling of the new Sinclair Series was matured in casks in which sweet-fruity red wine from the Spanish Rioja had previously been stored.

Alles in allem eine relativ gute Integritätsabfüllung, welche mit klarem Charakter aber auch Qualität punkten kann. Vor allem in jenem Preissegment würde mir spontan nichts ähnliches oder besseres einfallen. Für klare Konkurrenz müsste man schnell mal mindestens 10-15€ hochspringen zu einem „Port Charlotte“ oder „Kilchoman Sanaig“.
