This Ledaig from the Tobermory distillery was released by the independent bottler James Eadie and is part of The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland collection. From 1922 to 1929, the legendary former brewery and pub owner James Eadie and his team visited, scrutinised and photographed a total of 124 distilleries, all of which have now been documented in a book by Rupert Patrick. Rupert Patrick is the nephew of great-grandson Alastair Eadie, and based on photographs from the book, each whisky was carefully selected for its distillery character and flavour profile and bottled at cask strength after different years of maturation without chill-filtering or the addition of colouring. The 5-year maturation in refill barrels and refill hogsheads gave the smoky Ledaig delicate vanilla notes, which will appeal not only to connoisseurs but also to fans of bourbon cask-matured whiskies.

Kommentar: Für seine 5 Jahre doch schon recht komplex und richtig gut. Wer mal einen Ledaig mit über 50% Vol. zu einem super PLV probieren möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Tolle Abfüllung und die Aufmachung ist auch sehr gelungen!
