The Lagg Single Malt Small Batch Manzanilla Finish is a limited bottling from the Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran and the first small batch edition available worldwide with this special finish. Made from Concerto barley and the distillery's own spring water, the result is a heavily peated spirit with around 50 ppm, which is given its oily and full-bodied character through careful fermentation and double distillation. The whisky is first matured in bourbon casks before being aged for over a year in ex-Manzanilla sherry casks from Sanlúcar de Barrameda. This rare type of sherry brings maritime freshness, a fine saltiness and subtle nutty notes and provides additional complexity. On the palate, the whisky is smoky and powerful with peaty notes, accompanied by light hints of fruit, salty nuances and a fine, dry sherry spice. Bottled at 57.6% vol., unfiltered and without colouring, this island malt impresses with its intensity and the unusual combination of strong peat and an elegant manzanilla finish.

Lagg is the second distillery of Isle of Arran Distillers to produce Whisky on the Isle of Arran, alongside Lochranza distillery. The modern distillery building that opened in 2019, is modelled on the contours of the mountains on the Isle of Arran, as seen from the tiny island of Ailsa Craig.
