Product description
Founded in 1826, Glendronach Distillery continues to use direct-fired copper Pot Still stills and so-called "Worm Tub" condensers, which give the whiskies a strong character. Known for its maturation in rare sherry casks, Glendronach uses Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. This new 15-year-old Glendronach Sherry Cask Matured is a Highland Single Malt bottling produced by the Glendronach distillery using traditional methods that have been used for over two centuries.

Very impressive 15-year-old whisky; the upgrade from the 12-year-old is very noticeable. This expression is much richer and more complex, yet smoother, with a massive and impressive mouthfeel.
The aroma is quite comparable to the 12-year-old, featuring dark fruits, chocolate, and caramel. On the palate, it starts very sweet before hitting you with notes of oak, wood, dark fruits, apricot, banana, and chocolate. The finish is very long and warm, offering biscuit and chocolate flavors with a pleasant maltiness.
Overall, a very impressive, well-made whisky. It’s quite sweet, but impressively so. -

Kommentar: Ein sehr angenehmer und gleichzeitig ziemlich intensiver Whisky. Die Stärke dieses Tropfens besteht für mich darin, dass er einfach zu genießen ist und trotzdem eine gute Komplexität bietet!
