Product description
This Glenallachie is part of Duncan Taylor's Octave range. In this series, the independent bottler experiments with the influence of cask size on maturation. At around 50 litres, Octave casks are only a fraction of the size of standard cask types. As a result, the whisky has more contact with the surface of the cask and matures more intensively. This Glenallachie was bottled exclusively for Whisky.de and matured for 14 years in oak casks. It was then finished for nine months in an octave cask, which was made from a former sherry cask.

Glenallachie
The GlenAllachie Distillery, located in the famous Speyside region, is one of Scotland's younger distilleries, but since its takeover in 2017 by Billy Walker and his team, it has quickly made a name for itself with its high-quality Single Malt Whiskies. The name GlenAllachie comes from Gaelic and means ‘Valley of Stones’, which underlines the distillery's deep connection to the region. In addition to classic bottlings, the distillery has also been producing the peated Meikle Tòir since 2018, which is a special discovery for fans of smoky Speyside Whiskies. read more

Kommentar: Mich stört persönlich die leichte Schwefelnote (ein Hauch von Babykotze) vermischt mit Sherry und Eiche.
