GlenWyvis Highland Legacy Series 1: The Drover

The last whisky distillery in Dingwall, Scotland, in the Highlands, ceased operations in 1926. In 2016, GlenWyvis resumed the tradition and, with the support of over 3,000 investors, established the world's first fully community-owned distillery. The Highland Legacy Series comprises four bottlings inspired by traditional Highland occupations and showcased through illustrations by artist Fiona Mackenzie. The Dover is dedicated to the drovers who led their cattle over long distances from the Highlands to the Lowlands. For the first release, Sauternes barriques, Madeira hogsheads, Bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry hogsheads were used and combined with each other. The 4 different cask types characterised the GlenWyvis Single Malt with fruity-sweet notes, chocolate and nutty aromas.
