The Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is a creation of Irish and oriental botanicals. A total of 12 different ingredients are used to create a fruity, spicy and fresh Gin. Among the exotic representatives in the botanicals are Chinese lime and Chinese gunpowder tea. The latter has nothing to do with black powder, but is a tea that tastes like smoky peppermint. The main ingredients are distilled in a Pot Still and Chinese lime, grapefruit, kaffir lime and the gunpowder tea find their way into the infusion basket, which lies between the still and the condenser. The Shed Distillery was founded by PJ Rigney and produces small batches in Drumshanbo in County Leitrim, far away from mass production. Quality comes before quantity here.

Sehr eigenartig mit rauchigen Noten, viel Gunpowder-Tee-Anteil. Dabei auch herbe Frische mit aromatischen Würzanteilen.
Nachfolgend köstlich, aber immer komplex als Longdrink incl. Amaretto+Pink Grapefruit, mit Orangensaft oder klassisch als Gin Tonic, mit oder ohne Spritzer Limonensaft, immer wieder besonders durch die rauchigen Gunpowder-Noten, die gewöhnungsbedürftig sind. 4,3 Gin-Sterne

Hervorragender Gin, der etwas andere Aromen zu bieten hat. Besonders der Tee darin bringt frische Noten und Anklänge von gerbstoffen in den Gin.
