Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Heather-like and honey-sweet hints with a nutty-fruity touch of oloroso. Tropical fruit notes of banana and pineapple, plus facets of fresh apricots, walnuts and some wood spice.
Taste Creamy-smooth and enveloping, honey-sweet and warming accents of nutmeg and pepper. Exotic, fruity notes of grape, peach and apricot follow.
Finish Long lasting, pleasantly sweet and malty, but also pure and with a lot of white pepper spiciness. Towards the end dry, vanilla tones and oak spice .

Product description
This bottling by Dalwhinnie belongs to the Distillers Edition of the Classic Malts of Scotland. The Single Malt was matured for at least three months in Oloroso sherry casks. This Dalwhinnie was first matured in refill casks made of American and European oak. The second maturation took place in seasoned oloroso and re-charred American oak casks with heavily re-charred new AO ends.

Kommentar: Als ich den Whisky das erste mal probiert habe, hatte ich ein anderes Geschmacksprofil als heute. Ich hab mir auch das Video
von den Lünings angesehen, aber ich hab etwas andere Eindrücke.
In der Nase hat man gleich eine schöne Süße, Honig und starke Heidekraut-Aromen. Dann kommen tropische Früchte. Vor allem Banane und Ananas oder Pfirsich... Den Sherryeinfluss hab ich nur im Hintergrund.
Im Geschmack kommt dann eine deutliche Würze durch, obwohl er trotzdem auch rund und cremig wirkt.
Man hat auch wieder das Heidekraut. Man könnte es fast mit einer leichten Rauchigkeit verwechseln.
Abgang ist mittel mit einer schönen Würzigkeit, Eiche,... oder vielleicht einer leichten Nussigkeit.
Es ist ein echter Klassiker. Das PLV für einen 15er ist wirklich gut. Für mich 4*
