The 16-year-old Dailuaine was bottled by Diageo. Under the Flora & Fauna Series, the owner bottles selected casks from several distilleries, each individually as a Single Malt. The Flora & Fauna series is a true enrichment of the whisky scene and is considered by collectors as an original bottling, if there are no other original bottlings.

Kommentar: Alkohol jederzeit gut eingebunden. Transportiert Aromen und Geschmack angemessen: Früchte, Sherry, Eiche, Nuancen von Rauch, etwas Vanille und Honig. Und doch fehlt ein wenig Komplexität, der Moment der mich vollends überzeugt. Vergleichsbasis ist für mich der Glenallachie 15, der mich jederzeit vollumfänglich begeistert.

Nachtrag: Ein wenig experimentiert und sehr erfreuliche Ergebnisse erhalten: um die Komplexität zu erweitern, nehme man 1cl Bowmore 15 und 3-4cl Dailuaine 16, je nach Torfaffinität. Sherry und Rauch sind damit perfekt ausgewogen. Auch mit dem Ardbeg 10 lassen sich schmackhafte Ergebnisse erzielen. Die Dosis macht's. :-)
