Chairman's Reserve Original consists of rums that are triple distilled in Column and Pot Stills. First matured and blended separately by batch and distillation type in ex-Bourbon casks, the Blend is then aged for a further 6 months in oak casks. The average age of the rums is 5 years.

Kommentar: Ich freue mich immer, wenn ich einen geschmacksintensiven Rum vor mir habe, keinen "rum based spirit" mit Massen von zusätzlichem Zucker und fragwürdigen Aromastoffen. Und das PLV ist auch gut!

Kommentar: Zunächst möchte hier einmal das gute Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis betonen, denn für die knapp 22,- Euro bekommt man hier richtig was geboten. In der Nase weiß dieser Rum mit einer einer interessanten Symbiose aus kräftigen süßen und würzigen Eindrücken zu überzeugen. Diese lassen sich auf der Zuge perfekt widerspiegeln, wobei hier die würzigen Noten, kombiniert mit leichter Bitterkeit etwas stärker ein Erscheinung treten als die süßen. Der Abgang ist kurz und wärmend, aber mit Aromen von Zartbitterschokolade, Rosinen, Karamell, Gewürzen und Tabak alles andere als uninteressant.
