Bivrost Yggdrasil Arctic Single Malt Whisky

The Bivrost Yggdrasil Arctic Single Malt comes from Norway and is produced in the northernmost distillery in the world. The smoky whisky is named Yggdrasil, an ash tree that symbolises the entire cosmos as a world tree in Norse mythology. It is the first standard whisky in the Norwegian Bivrost distillery's range and is made from Pilsen malt, which in turn consists of a proportion of Nordic barley and a proportion of peated distillery malt. According to the distillery, a further release will take place in May 2025 and then every year. Yggdrasil is matured in casks flavoured with Oloroso sherry and charred in-house. The maturation age varies between 4 and 6 years and gives the malt fruity and roasted flavours.
