Product description
Balblair is located in the small town of Edderton in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery takes its time producing the Single Malts, which are matured in traditional 'dunnage' warehouses with clay soils.
In 2019, the distillery introduced a new core range to replace the Core Range, which previously consisted of vintage bottlings.
The 15-year-old Single Malt was matured in former bourbon casks and then received its post-maturation in first-fill Spanish oak casks.

Balblair is one of the most northern distilleries of Scottland. It lies right next to the Dornoch Firth and was established in 1790. The distillery character is best described as 'very fruity and sweet Speyside Malt'. Balblair means fertile valley, but also battlefield. This is traceable to a battle between the Picts and the Vikings many centuries ago.

Aroma: Herrlich voller aber nicht aufdringlicher oldschool Sherry! Nussig und dezent fruchtig

Eine wunderbare Blütenwiese mit viel Flieder; Pflaumen und dazu Honignoten; am Ende frisch geknackte Erdnüsse und die Nadeln eines Weihnachtsbaums; kein Rauch oder Torf, dafür leicht Terpentin
Geschmack:
Wunderbare Fruchtnoten bleiben; Beeren; nicht zu viel Schärfe, die alles überstimmt; dafür etwas Zartbitterschokolade (etwa 80 %); ganz etwas Salz und Pfeffer, der auf der Zunge verbleibt
Abgang:
Schüne initiale Wärme; die Würzigkeit bleibt; eine initial kräftige Intensität mit etwas Nuss und Vanille bleibt lange im Rachen; in der Speiseröhre wenig Stärke, die aber dann lange überdauert

Ein besonderer Tropfen; kupferfarben; sehr viele schöne weiche Töne für den saften Ausklang eines ruhigen Tags oder Abschluss eines Tags, bei dem man mit seiner Wirken zufrieden ist
