Product description
Edradour Caledonia shows particularly strong sherry notes. It had enough time in its 42-month finishing phase to draw intense flavours from the exclusive oloroso sherry casks. The Caledonia was named after the song of the same name by the well-known Scottish musician Dougie MacLean. Andrew Symington, the owner of Edradour, and Dougie MacLean designed this whisky together.

Aroma: dunkler Sherry, Backpflaumen, dunkle Beeren, Waldbeeren, Datteln, dunkle Rosinen, Karamell, auch ordentlich Gewürz, ganz leicht Kardamom; Eiche, feuchtes Holz, Leder, fast etwas Florales, Kräuteriges, etwas Tabak,

Geschmack: voll, Sherry-Gewürz, Marzipan, Rosinen, Pflaumen, etwas Eiche, hier mehr Würze, wieder etwas Kardamom; dann dunkler Sherry Anklänge von Lakritz (eher scharfes); auf den zweiten Schluck etwas Vanille und mehr Früchte, schön!

Abgang: länger, Gewürz über Holz über einer Cappuccino-Sherry-Note; beim zweiten Schluck auch hier leichte Vanille-Anklänge und mehr Frucht (Pflaumen, Rosinen) dabei


Kommentar: volle Pulle kräftig und würzig, dazu aber noch gut Sherry-Fruchtigkeit, krass für 12 Jahre; intensiv, anders, stark
