The Speyside (M) whisky with the number 15 was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage in the 100 Proof Edition as an Exceptional Cask. It matured for 16 years in Oloroso sherry butts before being bottled in natural colour and without chill-filtering. In the series, the whiskies are bottled with a minimum alcohol content of 57.1% vol. after a long maturation period and at fair prices. The term "proof" is an old unit of measurement for the alcohol content of a drink, especially whisky, which indicates the minimum alcohol content above which gunpowder soaked in the liquid can be ignited. This method was used particularly in the heyday of seafaring so that the barrels in the belly of the ship could withstand the harsh weather conditions at sea. The abbreviation M in the name of this mysterious Speyside malt bottling indicates a respected distillery that has been synonymous with premium whisky, outstanding quality and a deep-rooted Single Malt tradition since 1824.

Kommentar: Sehr Vollmundig mit einem schönen langen Abgang. Der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden und sanft. Bei einer Blindverkostung tippt man eher auf 46% und nicht auf die 57,1% die er wirklich hat. -

Herstellerbeschreibungop 27.01.2026Aroma: Kräftige Sherrynoten mit Trockenfrüchten wie Rosinen, Datteln und Feigen. Dazu dunkler Honig, Karamell und Noten von gerösteten Nüssen. Würzige Anklänge von Zimt, Nelke und etwas Leder sowie ein deutlicher Einfluss von Eichenholz.
Geschmack: Vollmundig und strukturiert. Süße von getrockneten Früchten und Toffee trifft auf dunkle Schokolade und Nussnoten. Die Sherrysüße wird von würziger Eiche, Zimt und Muskat begleitet, mit leichter Bitterkeit von Kakao und Holz.
Abgang: Lang und wärmend. Anhaltende Sherrywürze, Trockenfrüchte und Eiche, ergänzt durch dunkle Schokolade, Nüsse und einen trockenen, leicht herben Ausklang.
