This Linkwood was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage. It is part of the Signatory 100 Proof Edition, which is no longer just about high-proof, uncoloured whiskies, but affordable bottlings. The whisky matured for 17 years in first fill Pedro Ximénez hogsheads and was then matured in a second fill Oloroso sherry butt. The Speyside single malt benefited from this and was given fruity notes that combine with oak spice.

Peter Brown founded the distillery in 1821. At its inception, the site had only two stills, and Whisky operation wasn't entirely legal yet. The distillery formally began operations in 1825, after Whisky distillation was legalized. Brown's original distillery operated with only one wash still and one spirit still.

Aroma: schöne fruchtige Aromern, Kirschen, weiße und rote Weintrauben nicht zu sehr Sherry überladen, allgemein süß, fruchtig und der Alkohl ist top eingebunden.
Geschmack: Süß, richtig süß, aber geil, wieder die Kirschen, hier aber deutlich rote Kirschen, dazu rote Äpfel, Citrus, Orangen, Mandarinen, eine angenhme Würze (nicht zu doll, ist sehr dezent, aber so, das man es merkt, ordentlich Druck, dazu etwas Vanille und etwas Karamell, Honig, etwas Rosinen. Sehr lecker, was für "Süße Liebhaber".
Abgang: hier bleibt die Süße und die Früchte und etwas auch die Würze von der Eiche (die aber echt perfekt dezent), ein wundervoller Abgang.
Kommentar: ein richtig leckeres Teil, vorallem die 57,1 % Vol. sind sehr gut eingebunden. Leute, bekommt meine Empfehlung. Der Malt ist wirklich gut gelungen, für den Preis eine Waffe. Einzig und allein noch etwas mehr Tiefe wäre geil, aber das was er hat, für den Preis, ist super, Meckern auf hohen Niveau.
