This Craigellachie was released by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage in the Cask Strength Collection, which is popular with advanced and professional whisky connoisseurs. Andrew Symington founded his company at the end of the 1980s and has always maintained a good relationship with the distilleries. The 16-craigellachie was bottled exclusively for a German importer at 55.2% vol. and was finished in a first fill Madeira hogshead, which gave it wonderfully balanced fruity, dry and spicy accents.

In the heart of the Speyside near the little town of Craigellachie/Banffshire lies a distillery that was founded in 1891 at the peak of the Whisky boom and survived until today. Craigellachie Distillery is situated on a hill and overlooks the town.The difficult Gaelic name means “Rocky Hill” and is pronounced Krai-GELLacky.

Kommentar: der typische raue Craigellachie Charakter mit leichten Kupfer- und deutlichen Fruchtnoten. Sehr ordentlicher Schluck, wenn man die Signatur der Destille mag. Kann etwas Wasser ganz gut vertragen.
