Bowmore Bordeaux Cask Finish combines first-class cask quality from Bordeaux with the complexity of Islay whisky and the creativity of the Bowmore distillery: the single malt is a fascinating Bowmore. Initially matured in ex-bourbon casks, the Scotch whisky was finished in ex-Bordeaux wine casks from some of France's finest vineyards. The result is a combination of the typical maritime smoky notes of the Islay distillery with a lighter finish that is clearly characterised by the choice of cask.

Geschmack: Rauch deutlicher, leider wieder Etwas muffig (Wein?).
Abgang: Mittellang
Kommentar: Nein, ich werde kein Bowmore-Fan. Ein "ausgewogenes Bouquet von Früchten" habe ich überhaupt nicht. Vielmehr riecht und vor allem schmeckt er relativ muffig. Der Bowmore-Rauch geht hier eine eher ungünstige Verbindung mit Weinaromen ein. Scahde, die Eckdaten und auch das PLV waren vielversprechend. -

Geschmack: hier setzt es sich wie im aroma fort.
Abgang: erst frucht dann kommt der rauch zurück .

Geschmack: Der Rauch tritt etwas in den Hintergrund, Milchschokolade und leichte Säure
Abgang: Trocken und mittellang, Kirschen mischen sich mit leichtem Rauch
Kommentar: Hatte ihn gekauft, weil ich auf der Suche nach einem Äquivalent zum Benromach Wood Finish Sassicaia war. Hier kann er leider jedoch trotz des höheren Alters nicht mithalten. Finde den Rauch nicht aufdringlich, aber etwas weniger hätte den anderen Noten gut getan.
