Balblair is located in the small village of Edderton in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery takes its time to produce the Single Malts, which are matured in traditional 'dunnage' warehouses with clay soils. In 2019, the distillery introduced a new core range to replace the previous vintage bottlings. The 15-year-old Single Malt matured in former bourbon barrels and was then matured in first-fill Spanish oak barrels.

Balblair is one of the most northern distilleries of Scottland. It lies right next to the Dornoch Firth and was established in 1790. The distillery character is best described as 'very fruity and sweet Speyside Malt'. Balblair means fertile valley, but also battlefield. This is traceable to a battle between the Picts and the Vikings many centuries ago.

sehr komplex
Geschmack: seidig, tropische Früchte, keine Bitterkeit, Gewürze
Abgang: lang, mild, kräftige Vanille, immer noch keine Bitterkeit
Kommentar: das ist ein Old-School-Whisky. Unschlagbar für diesen Preis ( 1 l = 69,90 €) Alle positiven Merkmale (46%, nicht kgf.
nicht gefärbt) vorhanden. Nur zu empfehlen, kann man(n) sich einen langen Abend mit beschäftigen.
