The second batch of the Ardnahoe Cask Strength Edition comes from the new Islay whisky distillery of Distillery Director Scott Laing and Distillery Manager David Livingstone. The Single Malt is produced with the team using traditional methods. Peaty Islay water was taken from Loch Ardnahoe and two traditional worm tubs (the only ones on Islay) were used in the production process. The slow distillation takes place in two copper Pot Still stills with exceptionally long lyne arms, which prevents the mash from burning during distillation. The 2nd edition of the limited bottling is also matured entirely in hand-selected ex-bourbon casks so that the character of this Ardnahoe Single Malt can fully develop. The Islay whisky is bottled after 5 years of maturation at 61% vol, non-chill-filtered and without colour. With Ardnahoe, the Laing family has fulfilled a long-awaited wish to have their own distillery and, with Cask Strength Batch 2, is launching another impressive whisky on the market, which gains additional intensity and depth thanks to the natural cask strength. Last year, the young distillery was named 2025 Best New Distillery by the Online Scotch Whisky Awards and also won for its first product launch "Inaugural Release" at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2025.

The Ardnahoe Distillery was founded on Islay in 2018 by Stewart Laing and his sons Andrew and Scott. The family behind the independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. has thus fulfilled its long-cherished dream of owning its own distillery. The name Ardnahoe comes from the Scottish Gaelic and means "height of the hollow".
