The Don Julio 70 Cristalino Añejo Tequila is the world's first clear 'Añejo', i.e. tequila with barrel ageing, which was developed on the occasion of the 70th anniversary in honour of the founder Don Julio González. After double distillation and 18 months in American white oak barrels, it is carefully filtered through charcoal to restore the intense agave notes. The cultivation and harvesting of the agaves for Don Julio Tequila takes place in the 'Highlands' of Jalisco in Mexico, which offer the perfect microclimate and rich volcanic soil. It is also the birthplace of La Primavera distillery, founded by Don Julio Gonzalez in 1942, and thus the beginning of Don Julio Tequila.
